The war on Lebanon forced thousands of Palestinian Refugee families to flee their homes. Communities already living under severe economic hardship suddenly found themselves displaced, struggling to meet their most basic needs.
The impact has been particularly severe in Burj El Barajneh Camp, in the heavily bombarded southern suburb of Beirut, and in Tyre in southern Lebanon, where residents in both areas were ordered to evacuate.
PWHO is headquartered in Burj El Barajneh, and Tyre is home to another of our operational centers. Most of our staff and many of the families we serve live in these communities. Our educational and health centers are based in both locations, placing our team and programs directly within the areas most affected by this war.
