Implemented by the Women’s Humanitarian Organisation (PWHO), this project delivers essential healthcare services within PWHO’s facilities at the Beirut refugee camps, addressing the challenging environmental conditions that vulnerable residents face. The refugee communities in Mar Elias and Shatilla have historically lacked adequate women’s health services.
PWHO aims to emphasize the importance of reproductive health, raise health awareness, reduce the spread of chronic diseases among women, and improve the overall quality of healthcare in Palestinian communities. The project operates three days a week across both camps.
Over 250 girls, young women, and vulnerable women in Shatilla and Mar Elias have benefited from this initiative. Pregnant cases are referred to the PWHO clinic in Bourj Al Barajneh Camp for further care.
This project is funded by AIDOS (Italian Association for Women in Development).
