Implemented by the Women’s Humanitarian Organisation (PWHO), this project supports and creates a safe educational environment in the Beirut refugee camps for working women and their children. PWHO’s goals include helping families maintain their economic balance, improving children’s education from preschool to elementary level, supporting children with learning difficulties and special needs, and increasing the capacity of women with low educational backgrounds.
The project follows a curriculum focused on gender equality, aligned with Lebanese educational standards, pre-school activities, and the UNRWA daily agenda. It does not include any religious or political content.
During crises in Lebanon, the project prioritizes mental health services for all beneficiaries across Bourj Al Barajneh, Shatilla, Mar Elias, and displacement areas, aiming to reduce stress through regular sessions for children and their parents.
Services provided: Kindergarten (KG), educational community for women, psychological services for children and parents, psychosocial support (PSS) activities, referral cases, summer activities, and retention support classes for elementary grades.
